Sunday, Dec. 16

Indianapolis (-10 1/2, 45) at Oakland 4:05 pm - The Colts are sporting a 4-game winning streak, while the Raiders, after winning two straight for the second time this season, have reverted back to their losing ways, dumping it big time in a 38-7 loss at Green bay last week. No way the Raiders can even stay close to the reigning champion Colts, who are playing on an entirely different level.

Prediction: Colts 41 Raiders 13

Detroit at San Diego (-10, 45 1/2) 4:15 pm - The Chargers are lucky they play in the feeble AFC West or they might be on the outside of the playoff picture. The Lions have gone from 6-2 to 6-7 in five short weeks, though they are still in the playoff hunt. Losing in the final 18 seconds at Dallas didn't help matters much, but they will hang in and maybe even beat the Chargers here. One thing about the Lions in 2007 - they keep things interesting.

Prediction: Lions 31 Chargers 30

Philadelphia at Dallas (-10 1/2, 48 1/2) 4:15 pm - The Cowboys are still looking to lock up the top spot in the playoff seedings, home field and bye in the first week. Philly is 5-8 and about to pack it in completely. Even with Donovan McNabb in the lineup, they're still short on offensive capacity and have lost three in a row. Dallas should roll over the Eagles as they did earlier in the year, winning their first meeting 38-17 on Nov. 4 in Philly.

Prediction: Cowboys 30 Eagles 13

Washington at N.Y. Giants (-4 1/2, 36 1/2) 8:15 pm - With playoffs on the line, the Redskins sucked it up last Thursday and whipped the Bears, 24-16. Todd Collins will start for Washington, after replacing Jason Campbell (dislocated knee) in the first half last week and leading four scoring drives. The Redskins could not have a more capable, prepared backup than Collins and with so much on the line, this one figures to be close. Both defenses can really turn up the heat, but the Redskins appear poised to make a playoff run. They have Minnesota and Dallas yet to play, but Washington should come in breathing fire and not looking past the pesky Giants.

Prediction: Redskins 17 Giants 14

Monday, Dec. 17

Chicago at Minnesota (-10, 43) 8:30 pm - Hard to believe that the Vikings are 10-point favorites over the Bears, but that's how Vegas feels about this game. The Vikes are the NFL's hottest commodity, having won their last four by an average of nearly 21 points per outing. The 5-8 Bears have lost two straight, underperformed much of the season and are without playoff hope. The Vikings won the first meeting, 34-31, in Chicago, but will be on their own friendly field with excellent post-season prospects. Could be a huge win.

Prediction: Vikings 34 Bears 16
