Seattle at Cleveland (-1 1/2, 46 1/2) 4:05 pm - One of the more interesting matchups of the week, as the Browns seek respect in what has been a turn-around year for them. Both teams are 4-3, and who would have guessed that the Browns are rated the better offense (#6 vs. #16). Seattle has had trouble scoring, though after being shut out at Pittsburgh and tallying only 17 against New Orleans, they did put up 33 in a rout of the Rams last week. The Seahawks have had the bye week to figure things out, and the Browns may be thinking more about divisional contests at Pittsburgh and Baltimore in the next two weeks.
This could be the most entertaining game of the weekend, especially if the Browns' offense gets going early. Cleveland may have to go into overtime for the win, but they'll come out on top.
Prediction: Browns 38 Seahawks 35
Houston at Oakland (-3, 41 1/2) 4:15 pm - The Raiders lost 2, won 2 and now have lost another 3 straight, but they may be on the verge of another winning streak. Following this game, they face Chicago and Minnesota, both winnable games. Houston's five losses have been by an average of 12.6 ppg, and this should be a little closer, but not by much.
Prediction: Raiders 21 Texans 10
New England (-5, 56 1/2) at Indianapolis 4:15 pm - This is the one everybody has been anticipating since week 1, and neither team has disappointed. Following this game, there will be only one undefeated team in the NFL, and while the Patriots may be in the process of rewriting the record books, they face a determined squad with eyes on a second straight championship season. Tom Brady and the Patriots won't find it as easy to score against Indy as most other teams. Tony Dungy's defense is playing lights out, having allowed just two TDs in their last two games.
Indy is poised for a huge home win and will prove once again why they are the reigning Super Bowl champs and deserve to go to the big game again.
Prediction: Colts 31 Patriots 24
Prediction: Eagles 27 Cowboys 24
Monday, November 5
Baltimore at Pittsburgh (-9 1/2, 36) 8:30 pm - This is an awfully juicy line for a Monday nighter, though the Steelers are a worthy squad at 5-2. The Ravens are 4-3 and a win here would put them in a good spot, tied with Pittsburgh (and maybe Cleveland) atop the AFC North. Steve McNair should get the start for Baltimore and could be the difference here. Naturally, this is going to be a hit-fest, as both defenses are bruisers. Would it be a shock to see the Ravens win one on the road? Not really, though Vegas thinks otherwise.
Prediction: Ravens 16 Steelers 13
Open date: Chicago, Miami, N.Y. Giants, St. Louis
