--- Week 11 Notes below ---

Week 11 Notes: Texas Tech confirmed their leap to #1 by following up their win over Texas with a convincing victory past Oklahoma State, by a whopping 56-20 score. The Red Raiders were a very efficient bunch, scoring two touchdowns in each of the 4 quarters. Graham Harrell threw for 6 TDs (3 to Michael Crabtree), securing his place as the top pick for the Heisman Trophy right now. Next test for the Red Raiders is next weekend (Nov. 22), when they travel to Norman to play the Oklahoma Sooners.

Alabama kept pace, improving to 10-0 with an overtime victory at LSU, 27-21, clinching the SEC West. They will play in the SEC Championship against the East qualifier, which looks more and more like the Florida Gators, who improved to 8-1 overall - and into 3rd place in our rankings - with a smooth 42-14 win at Vanderbilt. The lone blemish on Florida's record is a 31-30 loss to Mississippi back in September. If not for that lone one-point defeat, the Gators would surely be ranked #1 in the BCS right now. Since that game, they've won five straight, outscoring opponents 243-57, an average margin of 37.2 points per game.

Penn State helped out the BCS by breaking up the logjam at the top by losing at Iowa, 24-23. The Nittany Lions flopped to #9 in our rankings, but still should manage to capture the Big 10 title and appear in a BCS bowl.
