--- Week 8 Notes below ---

Week 8 Notes:

The Top 10 teams in the Downtown Magazine rankings remained the same as all of them won, even though #1 Alabama struggled to a 12-10 win against Tennessee, Florida had a few testy moments, but eventually overcame a very game Mississippi St. team and #5 Iowa needed a touchdown on the final play of the game to slip past Michigan State.

Otherwise, it was business as usual for the 6 unbeaten and 4 one-loss teams that make up the tops in the nation. #11 Miami, however, didn't fare as well, losing at home to Clemson, a team which needs recogniton. Their losses have come to Georgia Tech, TCU and a strange loss at Maryland. At 4-3, however, they still don't make the grade. No team has more than 2 losses in the entire Top 25 make-up.

With the loss, Miami drops to #23, right behind the Central Michigan Chippewas, a team with a tradition of excellence, and the top team in the Mid-American conference by far.

Others deserving of re-inclusion this week were Ohio State, at #19, and West Virginia, 6-1 and #20. Navy makes its first appearance in the rankings at #24 and BYU, despite being hammered by TCU, still hangs in at #25.

Winning football picks will help you beat the college football spreads and win more betting on football.
