Kansas City at Oakland (-2, 36 1/2), 4:05 pm - Way back in AFL days, this used to be a classic rivalry. In fact, the Chiefs and Raiders were the first two AFL teams to reach the Super Bowl, both of them losing to the Packers before the Jets broke through with their win over the Colts, way back in 1969, so the franchises have plenty of history behind them.

While I wipe away a nostalgic tear, I notice that the Chiefs have come to terms with crybaby Larry Johnson, and to that one must say, "good riddance." Johnson was averaging 2.7 yards per carry this season and still hasn't been picked up by any other team. Since the Raiders won by a field goal at KC in week 2, turnabout is fair play, especially since Oakland is still starting Jamarcus Russell at QB. He's pretty awful.

PREDICTION: Chiefs 17 Raiders 14

Seattle at Arizona (-8 1/2, 47), 4:15 pm - Just a month ago, the Cardinals handed the Seahawks one of their worst beatings of the season, a 27-3 slam-down in Seattle. Let's see... Dallas beat Seattle 38-17, Indy dropped them 34-17, and San Fran bumped them off 23-10. Those scores are the mark of a team incapable of competing at the higher levels, a mark upon which Seattle qualifies.

The Cardinals remain the class of the NFC West, with a two-game lead on both Seattle and San Francisco. A win here widens the gap.

PREDICTION: Cardinals 34 Seahawks 21

Dallas (-3, 47 1/2) at Green Bay, 4:15 pm - Dallas is really rolling right now, winning their 4th straight with the 20-16 win at Philadelphia. The Packers are probably please to be out of Tampa, as the Bucs really put it on them in the second half. Green bay really wore down late, and it could have had something to do with the heat, though it likely had more to do with the desire in Tampa to get a win for their coach and rookie QB. Still, the Packers showed again that they are still some measure away from championship-caliber and will need to regroup quickly to handle Dallas.

The Packers are now 4-4, and 3 games behind the Vikings in the NFC North, so they have to be thinking about wild card status, but, a loss here would put even that in doubt. If the Bears win on Thursday, that should put even more pressure on the Packers to win, and they haven't been good under pressure. Two losses to Minnesota are proof of that. Meanwhile, the Cowboys look loose and capable.

PREDICTION: Cowboys 31 Packers 21

Philadelphia at San Diego (-2, 47), 4:15 pm - Best game of the week, and just like last week, when I said the Chargers were catching the Giants in a cheesy situation, the Eagles come into town while the Chargers are coming down off their last-minue win. Philly will sock the Chargers with defense, and San Diego's corners will be burnt toast by the time Philly's receivers are done. If Brian Westbrook returns this week (currently listed as questionabale), that's another plus for Philly, despite the loss of Ellis Hobbs at cornerback. Philip Rivers should be able to exploit the Philly secondary - he does it to everyone - but the Eagles have too much firepower.

PREDICTION: Eagles 30 Chargers 26

New England at Indianapolis (-3, 49 1/2), 8:20 pm - OK, take a side. Either you believe in Peyton Manning and the Colts at home or think Brady and the Pats will give them their first loss. I'm sticking with the Colts, only because they haven't covered in two weeks and are due. Even though this one is probably going to be a close call, Indy has that championship look and not even the Patriots can cover all of their weapons all day long.

PREDICTION: Colts 27 Patriots 21

Baltimore (-11, 40) at Cleveland, 8:30 pm - For a change, you'll be able to go to bed early on Monday night. The Ravens will welcome Brady Quinn back to his starting QB job by sacking him six or seven times. The Ravens are right in the thick of the playoff race, while Cleveland is just out of it. A big win by Joe Flacco and his buddies gets Baltimore over .500 and prepared for Indy next week.

PREDICTION: Ravens 27 Browns 6
