Oakland at San Diego (-17, 41 1/2), 4:05 pm - Wouldn't it be something if the Raiders beat the Chargers? Yes, it would be, it would be a dream. It's not going to happen, but these two teams already met once this season and the Chargers were lucky to get out of Oakland alive and with a 24-20 win.

Sam teams, different stadium. Give the Chargers an extra 6 points for being at home and they still only win by 10. OK, make it 13, 14. They still don't cover. I don't know how exactly, but I've just talked myself into taking the Raiders again.

PREDICTION: Chargers 30 Raiders 16

Jacksonville at Tennessee (-3, 45), 4:05 pm - At the beginning of the season, one might have thought this could be a seriously good game pitting two of the contenders in the AFC in pitched battle.

All that's pitched about this game is the season for both teams. The Titans are 0-6 and the jags are a feeble 3-3, with wins over Houston, St. Louis and oh, yes, this very Tennessee team, by a 37-17 score, their largest margin of victory this season.

That should tell you all you need to know, and why, on the surface, making the Titans 3-point favorites is a serious error. They suck. At everything. And, they're going to be 0-7 when this one is over.

PREDICTION: Jaguars 24 Titans 20

Carolina at Arizona (-10 1/2, 41), 4:15 pm - If there's anything we've learned from this season, it's that the Panthers stink and the Cardinals actually look like they'll make it back to the playoffs again, as long as Kurt Warner stays healthy.

At 4-2 and already a game up on the 49ers in their division, a win at home might give the Cards a little more breathing room, as the aforementioned 'Niners play at Indianapolis earlier in the day. The only issue is whether the players see the 49ers getting beat and become complacent, though, even then, they could probably beat the Panthers with 10 men playing defense.

Carolina QB Jake Delhomme has already thrown 13 INTs this season, but the Panthers have no option other than to play him. His backup is Matt Moore from Oregon St., whose career record is a 56.6 completion percentage, 3 TDs and 6 INTs. Good luck with that!

PREDICTION: Cardinals 34 Panthers 10

Minnesota at Green Bay (-3, 47), 4:15 pm - Best game of the week, possibly, now that the Steelers did Green Bay a favor by beating the Vikings. A win by Green Bay would make the NFC North much more interesting, as the Packers would then be just 1/2 game behind the Vikes.

After seeing how Brett Favre handled himself outdoors against the Steelers last week, one has to assume that he'd much rather be playing in a nice, warm domed stadium. Additionally, the Packers used to employ Mr. Favre, so - and he's got to love this - this game is all about him.

The Packers have been playing very well, and you can bet that most of the veterans will be up for this one. Pack gets the win.

PREDICTION: Packers 23 Vikings 17

Monday, Nov. 2

Atlanta at New Orleans (-10, 54), 8:30 pm - Let's face it. Drew Brees is from another planet, and it's probably the same one from which the Manning brothers came.

Atlanta, they have some game, but the Saints just have too much of it. This is a team headed for the Super Bowl and they may not be beaten until they get there. Certainly, they're not going to be bettered by their Southern brethren in their home dome. No, no, that just wouldn't do.

PREDICTION: Saints 41 Falcons 21
