NCAA College Football Top 25 - Week 10

Only one of the top 10 teams in the Downtown Magazine NCAA rankings took a loss in Week 10, but that was hard-luck LSU, losing in the final minutes to #1 Alabama, 21-17, the home loss particularly tough, sending the Tigers to a 7-2 record and #11 in the current rankings.
Notre Dame survived in triple overtime against a determined Pitt squad, which led most of the game. The Irish remain installed at #3 in the rankings.
As expected, #2 Oregon dispatched USC on the Trojans' own ground, 62-51. In a game in which both teams were defenseless, the Ducks proved superior throughout.
#4 Kansas State prevailed over Oklahoma State,
Besides LSU and USC, losers included #14 Tulsa, #15 Boise State, both now 7-2, though Tulsa, from the weak Conference-USA, is out of the Top 25, while Boise State falls to #24.
#20 Mississippi State and #23 Texas Tech also departed from the rankings with losses.
UCLA returned to the Top 25 with a 66-10 victory over Arizona. The Bruins are 7-2 and are #22 this week, right behind crosstown rival USC (6-3), the only team in the rankings with three losses.
The weekend's results leave six undefeated teams, though 10-0 Ohio State isn't material in the post-season, as they are prohibited from Bowl appearances due to sanctions.
Alabama is almost undoubtedly going to play in the national championship game, the question is whether Oregon, Kansas State, Notre Dame or Louisville - a long shot - will face the Crimson Tide. Any loss by any of the aforementioned undefeated squads will eliminate them from a shot at #1 at season's end.
