8:00 pm UTEP at Tulsa (-17, 58) - Conference USA action takes center stage on Thursday night, kicking off another weekend of tense NCAA action.
The 5-1 Golden Hurricane are obvious favorites at home against the 1-5 Miners, losers of three straight, all by 10 points or more.
At issue for Tulsa is their defense, which has allowed 106 points over the past three games, though they've won all of them, over Fresno State, UAB and Marshall respectively.
With UTEP having trouble scoring, however, Tulsa should put up enough points to cover easily. UTEP is 1-4 ATS in its last five road games.
Prediction: Golden Hurricane 42 Miners 17
Last season, the Sun Devils posted a 48-14 home win over the Buffs, and, even though this game will be on Colorado turf, the result should be similar.
Prediction: Sun Devils 38 Buffaloes 10
11:00 am Louisville (-3, 49) at Pittsburgh - Early game out of the Big East has unbeaten Cardinals slight favorites over the 2-3 Panthers, coming off a 14-13 road loss at Syracuse last week.
Interestingly, Louisville is 0-5 its last five trips to Pitt, but the team is playing with loads of confidence and beating others regularly, albeit by narrow margins.
Louisville comes off two successive road wins and appear not to be feeling any effects from the travel. Pitt should hang in for a half, but Louisville's defense should be up to the task late.
Prediction: Cardinals 31 Panthers 16
The Orange have had some narrow losses, including a 42-41 defeat to Northwestern in their season opener and a seven-point loss at Minnesota. They can keep it close and possibly win, having taken two of the last three in this annual Big East series and losing last year at home by a 19-16 score.
Prediction: Orange 24 Scarlet Knights 21
Though the Longhorns have lost the last two games in this series, this year's team is much improved, with David Ash emerging as a quality starting QB.
Both teams are ranked and with one loss, the Sooners losing to Kansas State, 24-19 on September 22, Texas going down to West Virginia, 48-45, last Saturday. Look for Texas to prevail against a suspect Sooner defense.
Prediction: Longhorns 38 Sooners 31
The Cyclones are no strangers to upsets, knocking off TCU, 37-23, last week on the road, but their 24-13 loss to Texas Tech and a 9-6 win at Iowa earlier this season point up the fact that the Cyclones simply don't have the offense to challenge the high-flying Wildcats, who are averaging 43.6 ppg, 11th nationally.
Prediction: Wildcats 34 Cyclones 19
The Red Raiders were downed by Oklahoma last week at home, 41-20, get to stay put, but probably won't be able to keep up with the frenetic pace of the Mountaineers either. This being the first ever meeting between the two schools, mark up West Virginia with another big win, though the scoring will likely continue right up until the final gun.
Prediction: Mountaineers 44 Red Raiders 35
Boise is poised to run up a nice score against what is a pretty good Bulldog team at 4-2, but this one may be closer than even the Vegas line-makers believe.
Prediction: Broncos 30 Bulldogs 27
