R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl
Nevada (-1, 60) vs. Louisiana- Lafayette
MWC vs. Sun Belt, New Orleans, LA, Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Sat., Dec. 20, 11:00 a.m. ET, ESPN - The Ragin' Cajuns have won seven of their last eight games and have won their last three bowl games, all in the New Orleans Bowl, the locale making this somewhat of a home game.

Nevada's main claims to fame were wins over Washington State and San Diego State, but losses to Boise St., Colorado St., Air Force and Fresno State hurt their status. Both teams like to run, which should keep the score low, but Nevada, hailing from the Mountain West, appears the better team.

Prediction: Wolf Pack 27 Rajin' Cajuns 23

Gildan New Mexico Bowl
Texas El Paso vs. Utah State (-10 1/2, 49)
C-USA vs. MWC, Albuquerque, NM, University Stadium, Sat., Dec. 20, 2:20 p.m. ET, ESPN - The Aggies are working on their fourth QB of the season - they lost the first three to injuries - but current signal-caller, Kent Myers is 4-1, the only loss a 50-19 beat-down at Boise State to close out their regular season.

The location favors UTEP, which has a strong running game and a fair defense and the Miners may be poised for an upset and the hefty point total can only help.

Prediction: Miners 21 Aggies 17

Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl
Colorado State vs. Utah (-4 1/2, 58 1/2)
MWC vs. Pac-12 #6, Las Vegas, NV, Sam Boyd Stadium, Sat., Dec. 20, 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC - The 10-2 Rams were probably the best team that most of the nation knew nothing about. Losses to Boise State - on September 6 and Air Force on November 28, closing out their season, were the only blemishes.

Utah had its best season in years, going 8-4, with some nice wins over Michigan, UCLA, USC and Stanford, giving an indication of their overall quality.

Look for Rams' QB Garrett Grayson (32 TDs, 6 picks) to light up the Utah secondary in a very competitive game.

Prediction: Rams 34 Utes 30

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
Western Michigan (-1, 56) vs. Air Force
MAC vs. MWC, Boise, ID, Bronco Stadium, Sat., Dec. 20, 5:45 p.m. ET, ESPN - Air Force has experience playing on the blue turf of Bronco Stadium, which may be advantageous. Incidentally, they beat Boise St., 28-14, back in September, en route to a nifty 9-3 record, and, the Falcons knocked off MWC standout, Colorado State in their season finale, 27-24.

The Broncos lost most of their significant games, including defeats by Northern Illinois, Toledo, Purdue and Virginia Tech and don't seem to be on the same level as Air Force.

Prediction: Falcons 38 Broncos 21

Raycom Media Camellia Bowl
Bowling Green vs. South Alabama (-3, 54)
MAC #4 vs. Sun Belt #3, Montgomery, AL, Cramton Bowl, Sat., Dec. 20, 9:15 p.m. ET, ESPN - Good luck picking a winner here, as both teams were weary down the stretch, Bowling Green losing its last three games, while the Jaguars - making their first bowl appearance since entering division 1 in 2012 - lost four of their final five.

Some indication may come from South Alabama's last game, a 42-40 loss to Navy, which had the nation's top run offense and defeated Army last week. The Jaguars like to run the football and the Falcons aren't very good at stopping it.

First time's a charm for South Alabama

Prediction: Jaguars 31 Falcons 17
