Bahamas Bowl
Western Kentucky (-3, 66) vs. Central Michigan
C-USA vs. MAC, Nassau, Bahamas, Thomas Robinson Stadium, Wed., Dec. 24, 12:00 p.m. ET, ESPN - Tough post-season for the MAC, as the Chippewas have to face the red-hot Hilltoppers, winners of four straight, including a 67-66 over then-unbeaten Marshall on the road.

Western Kentucky averaged 50 points per game those last four and will be running and gunning from the get-go. That's tough for Central Michigan doesn't have he kind of team that can rally from behind. They'll make it interesting, but eventually the Hilltoppers will run up he score.

Prediction: Hilltoppers 45 Chippewas 31

Sheraton Hawaii Bowl
Rice (-1 1/2, 59) vs. Fresno State
C-USA vs. MWC, Honolulu, HI, Aloha Stadium, Wed., Dec. 24, 8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN - Aloha! Have some Rice with your poi. Fresno State went 6-7, losing their last game to Boise State, 28-14, in the MWC championship, but the Bulldogs came out of the weaker division.

Neither team can be relied upon defensively: Fresno began the season with three straight losses - to USC, Utah and Nebraska - giving up 52, 59 and 55 points in those games. Rice's last outing was a 76-31 loss at Louisiana Tech.

Fresno may be better at this point in the season, so let's see if they can prove that point.

Prediction: Bulldogs 44 Owls 35

Heart of Dallas Bowl
Illinois vs. Louisiana Tech (-6, 61 1/2)
Big Ten vs. C-USA, Dallas, TX, Cotton Bowl Stadium, Fri., Dec. 26, 1:00 p.m. ET, ESPN - A very lackluster Illinois squad finished 6-6 and limped into bowl season. Louisiana Tech finished their season with a 26-23 loss at Marshall in the Conference-USA championship game, so the Bulldogs have displayed some quality on both sides of the ball, going 6-2 down the stretch.

The Fighting Illini can't run the ball effectively and the Bulldogs force a lot of turnovers, so this could get ugly if Illinois isn't prepared.

Prediction: Bulldogs 34 Fighting Illini 21

Quick Lane Bowl
Rutgers vs. North Carolina (-3, 66 1/2)
Big Ten vs. ACC, Detroit, MI, Ford Field, Fri., Dec. 26, 4:30 p.m. ET, ESPN - In many ways, Rutgers could have easily been the favorite here, though they went just 6-6 on the season, but the Tar Heels may not be motivated, especially after their season-ending, 35-7 loss to NC State.

This was Rutgers' first year in the Big Ten, where they managed only wins over Michigan, Maryland and Indiana, not saying much, but the Scarlet Knights have some quality on their roster, enough to get past North Carolina.

Prediction: Scarlet Knights 27 Tar Heels 24

Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl
North Carolina State vs. Central Florida (-2, 49 1/2)
ACC vs. AAC, St. Petersburg, FL, Tropicana Field, Fri., Dec. 26, 8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN - Surprisingly, the Bulls are not heavily-favored here, despite winning nine of their last ten games after an 02 start, those early losses to Penn State and Missouri.

NC State opened with four straight wins, then promptly lost four in a row, only to finish with three victories in their final four games, over Syracuse, Wake Forest and North Carolina. Central Florida may not have played a quality schedule, but they did manage to go 9-3, which says a lot, especially after losing most of their offense from 2013 to graduation or the NFL.

Prediction: Knights 28 Wolfpack 21
