Fearless Rick's Football Picks - Preseason Week 3 late games
All times Eastern
Saturday, August 27
Kansas City (-1, 41) at Chicago, 1:00 pm - It's not often that one sees road favorites in preseason, and though both teams are 0-2, the Chiefs have a pair of one-point lesses to show for their efforts, which incidentally, is the margin by which they're favored here. Looks like a sucker play for KC fans. The Bears' losses were to Denver and New England, so they really can't be faulted for those.

San Diego at Minnesota (-5, 41 1/2), 1:00 pm - Start off Sunday with an upset special. Phillip Rivers will be on target and this game figures to go down to the final quarter. The Vikings may come out on top, but it will be a struggle. Look for late errors to factor greatly into the final score.

WEEK 3 NFL Preseason - late games
Detroit at Baltimore (-3, 43), 7:00 pm - The Lions were humbled by Cincinnati last week, 30-14, but are likely on a better level against the Ravens. Not a load of scoring expected here, so the points may actually come in handy.
Philadelphia at Indianapolis (-3, 43), 7:00 pm - The Eagles have more talent than most are willing to admit, whereas the Colts are more than likely just going through the motions here. Sure the home fans would like a win, but the Eagles may be on a different plane, mentally and emotionally.
New York Giants (-2, 42 1/2) at New York Jets, 7:30 pm - Making the Jets underdogs to the Giants is insensitive to their fans. Beyond that, the Giants are not very good. In fact, they may be worse than last season.
Tennessee at Oakland (-3, 43 1/2), 8:00 pm - In what could be one of the better games of the weekend, Oakland should prevail with an impressive offensive outing and quality defense. Their long-suffering fans may finally find relief this season. The Titans are not quite ready for the limelight. Essentially, this is a mismatch.
Los Angeles at Denver (-5, 42), 9:00 pm - The Rams haven't lost yet in preseason, whole the Broncos didn't quite appear inspired in their 31-24 loss to the 49ers last week. Beware of large spreads before the regular season.
Sunday, August 28
Arizona at Houston (-1, 41 12), 4:00 pm - This one is really too close to call, so take the coin flip. All the analysis in the world won't help here. Both teams were in the playoffs last season and there' aren't many weaknesses on either side.
Cincinnati at Jacksonville (-1 1/2, 43 1/2), 8:00 pm - This is about as one-sided as any game this week. The Bengals have advantages on both sides of the ball. The Jags are trying to figure out who's making (and not making) their roster.
