3:30 pm #10 Wisconsin (-15 1/2, 41) at BYU - As usual, the Badgers are off to a fast, 2-0, start and that spells trouble for BYU, despite playing on their home turf. The Cougars are 1-2 and don't seem to have much in the way of offense. They whipped a very insignificant Partland State team, 20-6 in their opener, were shut out by LSU, 27-0, in their second game, and lost to Utah, 19-13, last Saturday.

If the Badgers have any kind of defense - which they normally do - this is going to be an epic rout.

Coin Flip: Wisconsin

Prediction: Badgers 47 Cougars 14

3:30 pm Notre Dame (-13 1/2, 48 1/2) at Boston College - The Irish come off a tough, 20-19 loss to Georgia and should be expected to take out their anger on the Boston College Eagles, who are 1-1 following last week's 34-10 loss to Wake Forest.

Notre Dame's defense will handle the punchless Eagle offense and score more than enough points to make even sober fans happy.

Coin Flip: Boston College

Prediction: Fighting Irish 38 Eagles 13

3:30 pm #23 Tennessee at #24 Florida (-5 1/2, 49) - The Vols whipped the Gators last season, 38-28, and Florida's team still hasn't quite figured out their own offense after losing September 2 to Michigan, 33-17. Last week's contest with North Colorado was cancelled, and the Gators may be suffering from post-hurricane distraction.

The Vols will make the Gators 0-2.

Coin Flip: Florida

Prediction: Volunteers 27 Gators 21

7:00 pm #12 LSU (-6 1/2, 50) at Mississippi State - The Bulldogs are 2-0 and eighth in scoring nationally after bumping off Charleston Southern and Louisiana Tech, so they're probably well-enough prepared for the Tigers.

LSU's 27-0 win over BYU and 45-10 win over Chattanooga prove very little, except that they are a very solid football team. Last year's meeting went to the Tigers, but barely, 23-20, and this one is on the road, so prepare for an early SEC upset.

Coin Flip: LSU

Prediction: Bulldogs 23 Tigers 20

7:00 pm Louisiana Tech at Western Kentucky (-7, 62) - Tech got hammered at home by LSU last week, 57-21, dropping them to 1-1, the same as Western Kentucky, losers at Illinois, 20-7.

While Conference USA isn't exactly prime time collage football, this is a very important game for both squads. Last year's meeting went to the Bulldogs, 55-52, but the Hilltoppers prevailed in the conference championship, 58-44, so be ready for plenty of scoring in this defenseless contest.

Multiple overtime is a distinct possibility.

Coin Flip: Western Kentucky

Prediction: Bulldogs 49 Hilltoppers 46

8:00 pm Arizona State at Texas Tech (-7, 76) - Only the second game of the season for the Red Raiders, so not much to go on except that they were 5-7 last season and lost to the Sun Devils in week two of the 2016 season, 68-55.

Arizona State dropped a 30-20 decision to San Diego State last week, which is not such a bad outing. This should be a fun one to watch, but it's really tough to pick a winner. Neither team is going to contend in their respective conferences, so making a bowl game would seem to be the agenda. Neither team did last year.

Coin Flip: Texas Tech

Prediction: Red Raiders 48 Sun Devils 34

8:00 pm #3 Clemson (-3, 59 1/2) at #14 Louisville - The defending national champions are going to lose a game sooner or later and this would be a good spot, as the Cardinals are loaded on offense, ranked, have last season's Heisman winner in Lamar Jackson, and lost last season to the Tigers by eight points, 42-36, at Clemson.

One would figure -as did the oddsmakers - that this one will be closer. Clemson is 2-0 after defeating Auburn last week, 14-6. The Tigers have a defense, for sure, but will they be able to stop Jackson consistently? That's the #1 question here.

Coin Flip: Clemson

Prediction: Cardinals 37 Tigers 34

8:00 pm Miami at #11 Florida State (-XXX) - No line available as this game has been cancelled and rescheduled for October 7.

Coin Flip: XXXX

Prediction: XXXX

10:30 pm Ole Miss (-3 1/2, 74) at California - Good match-up with both teams coming in unbeaten, at 2-0. Cal topped North Carolina in week one and handled Weber State, 33-20, last Saturday.

The Rebels have plenty of offense, winning 47-27 over South Alabama and 45-23 against Tennessee-Martin, but this is a step up in competition and a significant cross-conference road game. Ole Miss is not great defensively, so the Golden Bears may have a field day on their home turf.

Coin Flip: Ole Miss

Prediction: Golden Bears 34 Rebels 24
