7:30 pm West Virginia (-11, 53) at Pittsburgh - The Mountaineers have sufficiently recovered from their loss to Louisville and now that the Cardinals were defeated at Rutgers, have reason for hope anew. A win here and wins at home over South Florida (Nov. 25) and Rutgers (Dec. 2) would ensure at least a share of the Big East Title.
Pitt was upset by Connecticut, 46-45, last week and now are 6-4 with this game and Louisville next week, so their hopes of any kind of bowl game are pretty slim. If the Panthers get behind early (and they will) they will not play with much enthusiasm.
Prediction: Mountaineers 35 Panthers 14
8:05 pm Central Michigan (-3.5, 38.5) at Northern Illinois - Just in case you haven't noticed, the Chippewas have been one of the best plays of the season, week in and week out. With this game at Northern Illinois, Central Michigan has the opportunity to take another step towards an undefeated conference season in the Mid-America.
Northern Illinois has been a perennial contender in this conference, but they are merely 3-3 this year (5-5 overall), mostly the fault of an inconsistent offense. That plays into Central Michigan's plans, as their defense has allowed just under 15 points per game in their last five.
Prediction: Chippewas 27 Huskies 10
12:00 pm Maryland at Boston College (-7.5, 41) - Vegas still isn't showing any love for the Terrapins, who are a 1/2 game ahead of BC and can eliminate the Eagles from the ACC championship game with a win. While the Terps have the upper hand going in, the consensus is that Boston College has the better team overall, but that's why they play the games.
The Terps still have Wake Forest left on their schedule and have five straight conference wins, though only by a total of 14 points (the last two have been one-point victories). Boston College has already lost to Wake, so the best they can hope for is a win here, and two Wake Forest losses, which could happen (the Demon Deacons play Virginia Tech later today).
The ACC has been the most competitive conference in all of college football this season, and considering how important this game is to both teams, there is no real edge for either team. The Terps have been through enough close calls to give them the slightest advantage here though.
Prediction: Terrapins 20 Eagles 17
A total of 70 should be no sweat unless the weather doesn't cooperate.
Prediction: Cowboys 48 Red Raiders 38
