Fearless Rick's 2016 College Football Picks - Week 13 late games
All times Eastern
3:30 pm Minnesota at Wisconsin (-14 1/2, 44) - This is the storied "Paul Bunyan's Axe" game, awarded to the winning team. The longest rivalry in college football, this will be the 126th meeting. While the Gophers are 8-3, they may be in line for an upset, at least enough of an effort to keep things closer than the spread.

The Florida doubters are everywhere, it seems, including Las Vegas, where they are more than a TD underdogs in a big rivalry, ranked, and have a better record than the Seminoles (8-2 vs. 8-3). Besides, which of these teams has the third-best scoring defense in the nation? That's right, the Gators, tied with Ohio State at 13.0 per game. Florida State is further down the list, at #48, allowing 25.5 ppg.
Coin Flip: Florida
Rick's Pick: Gators 27 Seminoles 16

WEEK 13 NCAA Footall Picks - late games
3:30 pm Auburn at Alabama (-17, 46 1/2) - Biggest game of the week could be a major upset, though Auburn would have no shot for playing in the SEC championship, the Crimson Tide already having clinched with a 7-0 record. While the Tide is an impressive team worthy of their ranking, the Tigers are no slouches coming into the biggest game of the season, having lost only to Clemson, Texas A&M, and Georgia, pretty good company. The Tigers have not been embarrassed yet, but Alabama has made good teams look bad. Lots of mixed messages, but the points are too tempting to pass up.
3:30 pm Notre Dame at USC (-17 1/2, 57 1/2) - No, Notre Dame is not going to upset the Trojans in SoCal and they are not going to a bowl game. At 4-7, soon to be 4-8, don't be surprised if the powers that be begin looking for another coach immediately following this mess.
3:30 pm Michigan State at Penn State (-12 1/2, 54 1/2) - Here's the what if: If Michigan beats Ohio State, Penn State would play next week for the Big Ten title, having identical records and already topping Ohio State, 24-21. Wouldn't that throw a monkey wrench into the mix? Penn State will hold up their end of the bargain, though the Spartans have shown considerable spunk of late.
7:30 pm Utah at Colorado (-10, 53) - The Buffaloes are probably the best team nobody has seen this season, with the 13th best scoring defense at 18.5 points per outing and an offense that produces 35.5 points per game. Utah has done well, but not well enough. The Buffs move on to the PAC-12 title game next week.
7:30 pm South Carolina at Clemson (-24, 50) - A big nothing-to-see here, as the usual heavy in-state affair has no luster this season. Clemson is vying for another shot at a national championship, while the Gamecocks have struggled to a 6-5 mark. Can South Carolina score enough to keep within the spread? Doubtful. While they have a fair defense, it is far from exceptional, which is what's needed to hold down the Tigers. Additionally, they have a sputtering offense which at times is its own worst enemy. Both teams are going bowl-ing, but in vastly different venues.
8:00 pm Florida at Florida State (-7 1/2, 45 1/2) - Having wrapped up the SEC East division with their road win over LSU last week, the Gators might be looking past this game toward the SEC championship against #1 Alabama. Don't count on it. The players in this game know many of each other, having been recruited by both schools, so there's some serious pride on parade here.
