8:00 pm Temple at Memphis (-10, 60 1/2) - The 3-2 Owls can produce points, as evidenced by their last two victories, 48-20 over Charlotte and 45-20 over SMU. The Memphis defense will have an important roll in the outcome of this game; the Tigers lost, 48-28, at Ole Miss last week, but prior to that had outscored the opposition by a combined 155-27.
Figure on Temple to put up a few scores, but the Tiger defenders eventually shutting them down to secure the victory.
Coin Flip: Temple
Prediction: Tigers 34 Owls 20
7:30 pm Clemson (-16 1/2, 43) at Boston College - Surprising to see such a relatively short line after Clemson downed Louisville, 42-36, last week, though the BC defense has been surprisingly good, giving up just 20 points in their three wins. A black mark was the 49-0 defeat at Virginia Tech, but the 17-13 defeat at the hands of Georgia Tech was probably more representative.
Clemson is 5-0, ranked third in both polls and looks headed for a showdown with Florida State on the 29th of October. The remaining schedule is not very challenging, and despite the fact that the Tigers don't generally blow people out, they are capable of producing very convincing wins. They should be near peak performance at this juncture and this game should prove to be a walkover for them.
Coin Flip: Clemson
Prediction: Tigers 38 Eagles 13
12:00 pm LSU (-3, 41) at Florida - A veritable slugfest is in store for fans of SEC defense as two of the roughest in the league are set to brawl. Both are 2-1 in conference play, and still are very much alive in their respective divisions.
In five games overall, Florida (3-2) has allowed a mere 58 points. The Tigers, also 3-2 overall, have given up just 74. Points will be hard to come by but the Gators should have an edge with a solid surprising attack. Though LSU swamped Missouri, 42-7, last week, the departure of LSU's head coach Les Miles still weighs, giving Florida another slight edge.
Coin Flip: LSU -
Prediction: Gators 20 Tigers 14
The Longhorns are also 2-2, but 0-1 in conference play, after being drummed, 49-31, at Oklahoma State last Saturday. Still, Texas has a solid offense and some spirited play on the defensive side of the ball should go a long way towards keeping this interesting. The annual Red River shootout has never been predictable, and this season's vintage should be no different.
Coin Flip: Texas
Prediction: Longhorns 42 Sooners 38
By contrast, the Wolfpack is #37, allowing opponents just 21.3 per meeting, and their 3-1 mark merits favoritism in this match-up. NC State may be the best team the Irish have met this season, meaning that this road game might be the beginning of the end for any thoughts of earning a date for the bowl season in South Bend.
Coin Flip: Notre Dame
Prediction: Wolfpack 42 Fighting Irish 34

12:00 pm Oklahoma (-10, 73 1/2) vs. Texas - The Sooners got back on the right track with their 52-46 win at TCU last week and are 1-0 in the Big 12, despite their 2-2 record overall, so this game is very important in conference terms.
12:00 pm Notre Dame at NC State (-2 1/2) - There may still be some fight left in the Fighting Irish, though it certainly hasn't shown on their defense as they are ranked #100 in points allowed at 33.4 per game.
