Fearless Rick's NFL Football Picks - Week 11 early games
All times Eastern
Byes: Atlanta, Denver, NY Jets, San Diego
Week 10 Results: Coin: 3-11; Rick: 5-9
Thursday, November 17
New Orleans at Carolina (-3, 51 1/2), 8:25 pm (NBC-NFLN-Twitter) - Critical NFC South meeting between two fierce rivals, both coming off losses, the Panthers blowing a home lead to the Chiefs late and the same for the Saints in the dome, losing to Denver by two points, 25-23.
Home field being the major advantage for Carolina, they are slight favorites, but the Saints' offense is formidable and the Panthers have not been as good defensively as last season. Take the points and enjoy.
Coin Flip: New Orleans
Rick's Pick: Saints 27 Panthers 24
Buffalo at Cincinnati (-3, 47), 1:00 pm (FOX) - Having lost Monday in New Jersey to the Giants by a mere point, 21-20, the Bengals are really on the ropes in the division and wild card races. Ditto the Bills, who were last seen failing on fourth and goal at Seattle in the prior Monday night special, 31-25.
Both teams have had their moments, but more, disappointment. A tough call, but the Bengals are probably a little banged up off the Monday night game and haven't won many close games (actually, only one, 23-22 at the Jets, week one).
Coin Flip: Cincinnati
Rick's Pick: Bills 23 Bengals 20
Pittsburgh has not been right since before Ben Roethlisberger missed a couple of games with an injury, but they have not been any better since his return, losing two straight. One could assert that their loss to the Cowboys was against possibly the top NFC team, but winning is one thing and being close is another. Cleveland should be competitive here, as evidenced by close home losses to the Jets and Baltimore.
Coin Flip: Cleveland
Rick's Pick: Steelers 30 Browns 26
Dallas won a stunning victory in Pittsburgh last Sunday are are one of the top three or four teams in the league, playing at a high level, especially on offense. Doubtful whether the Ravens can score the win, but they may keep this one within the spread.
Coin Flip: Baltimore
Rick's Pick: Cowboys 24 Ravens 20
A Lions win keeps them on top, an enviable position heading into the final six weeks of the season.
Coin Flip: Jacksonville
Rick's Pick: Lions 34 Jaguars 17
The Colts have been unconvincing, and a loss would put them at a severe disadvantage to both the Titans and Texans, who lead the division. Looking for a major upset.
Coin Flip: Tennessee
Rick's Pick: Titans 32 Colts 30
Coin Flip: Kansas City
Rick's Pick: Chiefs 24 Buccaneers 13
While the Cardinals aren't exactly imposing on defense, they can be powerful when they have the ball. They're the 20th highest scoring team in the league (22.4 ppg) and should be on their game despite the foreign setting. Besides that, the Vikings have only scored just 56 points in their last four games, all losses.
Coin Flip: Arizona
Rick's Pick: Cardinals 30 Vikings 16
The Bears are beginning to revert to early season form. Their win over Minnesota two weeks back can be dismissed as catching a declining team at the right time, because their effort at Tampa Bay was horrendous. They are on the road for the second straight week. Stick in fork in da Bears. They're done.
Coin Flip: NY Giants
Rick's Pick: Giants 40 Bears 13

WEEK 11 NFL Picks
Cumulative: Coin: 59-71-3; Rick: 64-66-3
Sunday, November 20
Pittsburgh (-7 1/2, 48 1/2) at Cleveland, 1:00 pm (CBS) - The Browns are going to break through somewhere and their chances are likely better against a divisional foe such as the Steelers, but Pittsburgh is still very much in the hunt for the AFC North, which has been decimated, and this is a game they cannot afford to lose.
Baltimore at Dallas (-7, 45), 1:00 pm (CBS) - After the dispatching of Cleveland last Thursday, the Ravens find themselves in a familiar position, in the lead in the AFC North, but now they must take their game on the road, where they have not had the best of outcomes this season.
Jacksonville at Detroit (-6 1/2, 47), 1:00 pm (CBS) - While the Jaguars are playing substantially better than they did last year, they are still not a solid squad on the road. Detroit, after a 1-3 start, has gone on a bit of a streak, winning four of five, landing atop the NFC North, as both Green Bay and Minnesota, with whom they are tied, have faded.
Tennessee at Indianapolis (-3, 52 1/2), 1:00 pm (CBS) - Growing by leaps and bounds over the course of the season, the Titans are a force with which to reckon in the AFC South. Indy's big road win at Green Bay two weeks ago has been somewhat diminished after the Titans dispatched with the stumbling Packers last week, absolutely running them ragged, 47-25.
Tampa Bay at Kansas City (-7, 44), 1:00 pm (FOX) - Finding themselves in the hunt for a playoff spot or even a shot at the NFC South division, Tampa Bay is no longer an easy out, as they hammered the Bears last week, 36-10. Kansas City took to the road for a win at Carolina, 20-17, and are a very stubborn 4-0 at home, so this game becomes a pivotal test for both teams. With Oakland and Denver also fighting for the division, Kansas City should be playing hard for the victory and the fans will only help in that effort.
Arizona at Minnesota (even, 40 1/2), 1:00 pm (FOX) - After a 5-0 start to the season, Minnesota was the last team in the league to suffer a loss, but they've continued losing and last week went down to Washington, 26-20, for their 4th straight on the wrong side of the scoreboard.
Chicago at NY Giants (-7, 46), 1:00 pm (FOX) - With four straight wins in hand, the 6-3 Giants have a very good shot at a wild card at least, trailing the 8-1 Cowboys in the NFC East. Having home field a week after playing there Monday night is a big plus for the G-Men, and Chicago is unlikely to have much success against an evolving Giant defense.
