Fearless Rick's NFL Football Picks - Week 13 late games
All times Eastern
Buffalo at Oakland (-3, 49 1/2), 4:05 pm (CBS) - Buffalo is getting plenty of respect on their trip to the West coast, only a slight underdog against the team that looks like the champion of the AFC West. There are probably two reasons for that. 1. The Raider defense is know to give up a fair number of scores. 2. The Bills are 6-5, need to keep winning, and are something of an enigma this season.
The chances of Buffalo upending the Raiders are not good, as Buffalo's defense is somewhat short in the secondary, but, the Bills can run the ball on any defense, and, if they do so well, they can keep the ball out of Derek Carr's dangerous hands. Tough call, but the Raiders are known for last-minute heroics, in which case the few points may be enough for the Bills to cover.
Coin Flip: Oakland
Rick's Pick: Raiders 32 Bills 31
Having played a swell game at Dallas on Thanksgiving, the Redskins were saddled with a loss none the less, but got in a few more days of rest. The travel shouldn't be a problem for the youthful Washington crew, who are OK, with a 2-2-1 mark away from DC. Having more to play for, and with a balanced offense, the Redskins should prevail.
Coin Flip: Arizona
Rick's Pick: Redskins 26 Cardinals 17
Adding to the NY allure in this contest is the overly-generous point spread. Pittsburgh's defense is still work in progress and Eli Manning should be able to find open receivers all day long in the Steeler secondary.
Coin Flip: NY Giants
Rick's Pick: Giants 31 Steelers 24
Tampa Bay has some appeal here, as they are 4-1 on the road, have won three straight and have a better mark than the Chargers (6-5 vs. 5-6). Lots to like, including a point spread of more than a field goal, which may be the margin here, though the Buccaneers are looking like winners.
Coin Flip: San Diego
Rick's Pick: Buccaneers 20 Chargers 17
Carolina at Seattle (-6 1/2, 45), 8:30 pm (NBC) - Is this the end of the road for the Panthers? After losing at Oakland last week in a thriller, Can Newton and crew head up the road to Seattle, where the Seahawks are close to wrapping up the division. Two more wins should do it for the Seahawks, who have little competition in the NFC West and this looks like a winnable game.
Seattle may have found themselves looking ahead in last week's loss to the Buccaneers, and the offense was throttled in that 14-5 defeat, but Carolina doesn't have the stifling power of Tampa Bay, though there are too many points out there for the taking, so we'll go with the Panthers, hoping for the upset.
Coin Flip: Carolina
Rick's Pick: Panthers 24 Seahawks 23
Indianapolis (-1, 49 1/2) at NY Jets, 8:30 pm (ESPN) - Andrew Luck will be back behind center for the Colts, which is good news for their chances of winning the AFC South, despite their sub-par 5-6 record. At 3-8, the season is over for the Jets, and they're likely dejected after losing a heartbreaker to division rival New England last week, 22-17. Far from a certainty, the Colts should get the win.
Coin Flip: NY Jets
Rick's Pick: Colts 24 Jets 20

WEEK 13 NFL Picks- late games
Washington at Arizona (-2 1/2, 49 1/2), 4:25 pm (FOX) - In a word, the Arizona Cardinals are going exactly "nowhere" this season. Losers of two straight, the 4-6 Cardinals have fallen too far off the pace set by Seattle (7-3-1) in the NFC West and their record indicates they will most likely not be a wild card team.
NY Giants at Pittsburgh (-5 1/2, 49 1/2), 4:25 pm (FOX) - Riding a six-game winning streak, the Giants may be the most surprising team in the entire league. The NY defense is among the best in the league, and Pittsburgh has shown signs of struggling against squads that swarm such as New York's.
Tampa Bay at San Diego (-3 1/2, 46 1/2), 4:25 pm (FOX) - This could be the most intriguing game of the weekend, as both teams have plenty to offer in the way of talent, and neither has been completely eliminated from playoff contention, though both teams have work to do if they are to make the post-season promised land.
