Fearless Rick's NFL Football Picks - Week 14 late games
All times Eastern
NY Jets at San Francisco (-2 1/2, 44 1/2), 4:05 pm (CBS) - Stinker bowl. The Jets, having lost badly at home against the Colts Monday night, have to make a trip all the way across country to face a 49er squad that's lost 11 straight. Good thing nearly nobody will be viewing this game other than close friends and family of the competitors because it will be an ugly event. Featuring the likes of Colin Kaepernick and Ryan Fitzpatrick, both of whom are being paid millions of dollars, the chant of "stop the madness" might be heard resonating from the near-empty stands. We'll go with the coin flip pick here simply because nobody cares and we have to make a choice.
Coin Flip: NY Jets
Rick's Pick: Jets 19 49ers 14
The Packers still have to contend with Detroit in week 17, making this game a "must win" situation. The Seahawks, with their injury bugaboo behind them, appear to be one of the healthiest teams in the league and are beginning to batter opponents with regularity (despite their poor showing in Tampa two weeks ago). A win and they're assured at least a tie as NFC West champs, while sending the Packers ostensibly off on an early golf junket.
Coin Flip: Green Bay
Rick's Pick: Seahawks 34 Packers 21
Coin Flip: Atlanta
Rick's Pick: Falcons 24 Rams 14
The Cowboys haven't missed a beat since week one, so, as they say around these parts, the trend is your friend. Dallas wraps up a playoff berth and potentially the #1 NFC seed position.
Coin Flip: Dallas
Rick's Pick: Cowboys 26 Giants 17
Baltimore at New England (-7, 46), 8:30 pm (ESPN) - With both Miami and Buffalo losing last week and the Patriots triumphing over the Rams, 26-10, at home, New England has virtually wrapped up another AFC East championship with relative ease.
Baltimore really needs a win to keep pace with the Steelers (depending largely on the outcome of Pittsburgh's trip to Buffalo on Sunday), so they may be running some exotic plays offensively and sending out six DBs against Tom Brady on defense. While the Patriots appear the class of the AFC, the conference as a whole is not impressive, giving the Ravens ample opportunity for the upset. Pending the result of the Arizona-Miami game Sunday, New England may have already clinched the division (if Miami loses), making this game one just for seeding position though at 10-2, the Patriots are likely to be one of the top two seeds, assuring them the home field edge and a bye week once the playoffs commence.
Coin Flip: Baltimore
Rick's Pick: Ravens 30 Patriots 27

WEEK 14 NFL Picks- late games
Seattle (-2 1/2, 46 1/2) at Green Bay, 4:25 pm (FOX) - Having throttled Carolina on Sunday night, 40-7, the Seahawks have clear sailing toward the NFC West title beyond this little trip to the great frozen tundra of Lambeau Field, where the 6-6 Packers plan to continue their season-ending thrust to capture the NFC North.
Atlanta (-5, 45) at Los Angeles, 4:25 pm (FOX) - Offensive woes continued for the Rams as they were throttled at New England last week, 26-10. Atlanta has a similarly-suited defense as the Patriots, so somewhat the same result is expected. The Falcons gave away a win to Kansas City last week when the Chiefs turned a possible game-winning two-point conversion attempt by the Falcons into two of their own. Lightning is unlikely to strike twice for Atlanta, who are 4-2 on the road.
Dallas (-3, 47 1/2) at NY Giants, 8:30 pm (NBC) - Facing the team that last beat them (week one, 20-19), the Cowboys find themselves in position to clinch the NFC East with a win over their closest division rival. With both the Giants and Redskins losing last week, 11-1 Dallas can wrap things up in the Big Apple and will have the additional emotional lift of playing in a national televised game.
