Fearless Rick's NFL Football Picks - Week 2 late games
All times Eastern
Tampa Bay at Arizona (-6 1/2, 50), 4:05 pm (FOX) - The Buccaneers could be a real sleeper this season and they're getting little respect as heavy underdogs on the road, despite pounding the Falcons, 31-24 (it wasn't that close), in Atlanta last week.
Arizona's players should be ashamed at losing to the Patriots on Sunday night, especially since New England was without QB Tom Brady. The Cardinals have no excuse for that loss and maybe this is just another team that looks to have all the relevant pieces in place, but hasn't quite figured out how to use them. Can Tampa actually win in the desert? Sure, because they are improving and will be emotionally prepared against a Cardinal team that may be overconfident.
Coin Flip: Arizona
Prediction: Buccaneers 29 Cardinals 25
Seattle didn't impress, beating the Dolphins, 12-10, in their home opener last week, and maybe they ironed out some of the kinks, but the Rams always play them very tough, evidenced by two wins over the Seahawks last season.
Coin Flip: Rams
Prediction: Rams 17 Seahawks 13
While a shoot-out may not be exactly the nature of this game, there should be offense aplenty, as the Colts really need to post a victory.
Coin Flip: Denver
Prediction: Colts 31 Broncos 27
Atlanta is struggling for identity, and they didn't find any in their season-opening home loss to the Buccaneers. The Raiders may romp at home to the delight of their long-suffering fans due to the ineptitude of the Falcon defense.
Coin Flip: Oakland
Prediction: Raiders 38 Falcons 16
Jacksonville has to go on the road, but the Chargers will be without their main playmaking receiver, Keenan Allen, which may eventually prove the difference in a hotly-contested battle of near-equals.
Coin Flip: Jacksonville
Prediction: Jaguars 24 Chargers 23
It could be Sam Bradford behind center, but Hill may have bought himself another week. Aaron Rodgers will surely be the starter for Green Bay, which means the Minnesota D-backs will be busy. These two split two games last season, each winning on the road, but look for a more traditional outcome this time around. Green Bay's defense allowed 320 passing yards by Jacksonville's Blake Bortles in last week's 27-23 squeaker. The Packers may not be so lucky this week.
Coin Flip: Green Bay
Prediction: Vikings 30 Packers 27
Philadelphia at Chicago (-3, 43), 8:30 pm (ESPN) - The Bears are favored here only because they are at home and maybe because the Eagles actually allowed Cleveland to score in their Week 1, 29-10, victory.
Chicago fans should be excited about the Cubs, which may be the best team in baseball, but the Bears are a far cry from their days of glory.
Coin Flip: Chicago
Prediction: Eagles 34 Bears 27

WEEK 2 NFL Picks- late games
Seattle (-3 1/2, 41 1/2) at Los Angeles, 4:05 pm (FOX) - Rams were blown away in their season opener, losing, 28-0, to the 49ers, but this game is in their new home and the fans, crashes, and players should all be geared up for a quality effort.
Indianapolis at Denver (-6, 45), 4:25 pm (CBS) - Colts look to be up against it on the road against a solid Denver team that's 1-0 after defeating the Panthers last week. While it may be unfair for the reigning champions to begin the season with two straight home games, it's up to the Colts to prove they can return to the playoffs and a win here would go a long way towards that end.
Atlanta at Oakland (4 1/2, 48 1/2), 4:25 pm (CBS) - Oakland is an improving team with a very dangerous offense.
Jacksonville at San Diego (-3, 48), 4:25 pm (CBS) - What may have surprised many was how well both of these teams played in Week 1, though each came up losers, the Chargers in overtime at Kansas City, the Jags to Green Bay at home.
Green Bay (-2 1/2, 44 1/2) at Minnesota, 8:30 pm (NBC) - A quality match-up no matter who starts at QB for the Vikings, though Shaun Hill did a credible job for the Vikes in their 25-16 win over Tennessee last week. Hill didn't throw any TDs, but he also didn't turn the ball over, a huge plus.
