San Diego at Denver (-4 1/2, 43 1/2), 4:05 pm (CBS) - San Diego may have Denver's number this season, as they topped them a couple of weeks ago, 21-13, but playing in Denver is a different story.

This series has produced some close calls over the past few seasons, so siding with the underdog and getting more than a field goal isn't exactly dumb. A win would put the Chargers at 4-4 and back in the playoff hunt.

Coin Flip: San Diego

Prediction: Chargers 25 Broncos 23

Arizona at Carolina (-2 1/2, 48), 4:25 pm (FOX) - Arizona's offense spent all of Sunday night chipping away at Seattle's defense, resulting in a 6-6 tie in a game marred by miscues, penalties and missed opportunities. At 1-5, the Panthers are really up against a wall here, stunning for a team that played in the Super Bowl at the end of last season. Home field, the return of Cam Newton, and a week off should help.

There's still a level of parity in the NFL and it will be proven here. This figures to be largely a defensive struggle, but Carolina must be motivated to pull off the upset. Even with a win, Carolina still is unlikely to return to the playoffs, but they can regain some of their former swagger.

Coin Flip: Carolina

Prediction: Panthers 20 Cardinals 13

Philadelphia at Dallas (-4 1/2, 43 1/2), 8:30 pm (NBC) - Kudos to the planners who put this classy NFC East game on the Sunday night schedule. The two are vying for dominance in the division and this is their first meeting of the season. They play again in Philly, in week 17, on January 1.

Dallas had last week off and has the luxury of a home game following a bye, which is a major plus. On Sunday, the Eagles handed the Vikings their first loss of the season, in a 24-10 beat down, proving they are for real. This game being as even a match-up as there is this week, it's tough to make a call, but the few points given to the Eagles may be to your advantage.

Coin Flip: Dallas

Prediction: Eagles 21 Cowboys 20

Monday, October 31

Minnesota (-5, 42) at Chicago, 8:30 pm (ESPN) - Minnesota lost its first game of the season last week, handled by the Eagles, 21-10. Big difference here, as the Bears essentially don't have a starting QB.

Whoever put the Bears in back-to-back prime time games (they lost to Green Bay last Thursday) should be forever banished from sports and media, and forced to watch endless reruns of daytime soap operas. Let the tears flow. As far as this game is concerned, most people will tune out by half time, when the Vikings will have already established an insurmountable lead.

Jay Cutler will start for the Bears, but a rusty Cutler isn't really an advantage.

Coin Flip: Chicago

Prediction: Vikings 31 Bears 6
